Functional Rehabilitation

Even the simplest of daily activities requires complex patterns of movement integrating posture, strength, balance, mobility and stability. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional athlete or spend most of your day at a desk – movement should be pain-free and an enjoyable component of daily life. Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a diagnostic system that analyzes movement patterns to determine the source of pain and provides a guide for treating weaknesses and imbalances. SFMA and its counterpart, Functional Movement Systems (FMS), evaluate the entire body and provide important information about how the body is moving as a whole and as individual parts. Screening functional movement is beneficial for both treating injuries and correcting imbalances before they can cause injury.
